My Old Grandmother يا ستي يا ختيارة is the first short documentary directed by Hadi Moussally in 2014, created shortly after his graduation. The film marks the beginning of his cinematic journey, already revealing his intimate approach to storytelling and memory.
Synopsis (EN) :
When time flies and life is boring, the only thing we wait for is death. For Myassar, my grandmother, days go by and blend into each other and all that is left to do for her is… wait. A picture will make her relive memories and, little by little, her emotions will guide her story.

Quand le temps fuit et que nous vivons dans l'ennui, notre seule attente, c'est la mort. Les journées se suivent et se ressemblent pour Myassar, ma grand-mère, et tout ce qu'il lui reste à faire est... d’attendre. Une photo va la replonger dans ses souvenirs, et peu à peu tous ses sentiments accompagnent son récit.
